A vintage table, quite old, receives a new painting finishing and decoupage of a London Map.A perfect accent side table for a living room or entrance hall.
The table was quite old but very sturdy and only with a few cracks on top.
I haven't taken pictures of the process, but it was quite simple and easy. First I've painted the base and edge of the top, then I finished the base with a bit of distressing and dark wax for an aged look.
Then I've applied the map with decoupage glue and let it dry while I finished off the edges of the top by distressing and finishing with dark wax.
After the glue dried, I've gave the top 2 coats of Annie Sloan Lacquer of seal the make the top more durable. This lacquer is matt finish, so you don't actually see any shine surface.
The final result was really cool.
