Before You Toss Those Worn Garden Clogs--Stop and Recycle!


Hi there, Hometalk Friends! Are you as anxious for spring as I am? Well grab your garden gloves for a simple green spring project...


Here in the Texas hill country, my gardening season can easily run from February through November, so I'm prone to wearing out garden clogs and boots. I recently replaced my clogs and had the old ones in hand to toss when I had the idea to recycle them. I've seen ceramic planters designed like garden boots or clogs, so why not use real ones? Here they are before--faded and frankly, pretty gross...
I started by wiping them down. Next, I decided to use bright red spray paint, I had on hand. I turned them on their sides, then gave each two coats. Here's how they looked after the first coat:
