Turn Your Old Kitchen Cabinets Into Repurposed Decor

We are in the middle of our kitchen remodel and I am having a blast creating our new space. But, what to do when you have leftover kitchen cabinets that are too good to throw away? Repurpose them, of course.
I am taking my kitchen cabinets and turning them into home decor. Come see how you can make use of those unwanteds instead of tossing them to the curb.

Would you believe this is the valance that came out of my 1950's kitchen? No need to pitch it.





We are knee-deep in our kitchen remodel and are having fun making old things new. Consider yourself invited to come see our progress here.





After removing some of our upper cabinets in our kitchen remodel, I was left with a pile of potential. Do you see it? Most would see a pile of junk for the trash or burn pile.





I pulled out a perfectly good piece of wood that was above our kitchen sink and served as a valance. It now finds new purpose in a few simple steps. Check it out...





I just used my miter saw and gave the valance a few cuts, added a simple plywood bottom, and then assembled using my nail gun. I was done in a matter of minutes.





Next, I grabbed the face to one of the cabinets and decided to give it new life.





Using my pocket hole system, I made a few tweaks, added a shelf and came up with a new purpose - a message center complete with chalkboard and cork board sides. No need to pitch these things! Want to see the finished products? Come on over to the blog - you won't be disappointed!
